Recap!

All!
Thanks for coming out saturday! We had 52 riders this year at FHC! It was a great group of individuals, fantastic riding, and awesome BBQ!
First off, I want to thank Celeste Mathias and Carter Jones for their help. Please post any comments of thanks or send me an email and I will make sure it gets to them! They were great in making sure bottles were filled, cookies were consumed, and cues were had! Thanks again!
Our winners...yes there is a race aspect to the FHC for some... Were David Neidinger and Shelby Stokes. Both riders rode well all day! David finished with Josh Johnson, but someone has to be the first loser! Brian Bradley rounded out the top 3 for open. Our masters always rode really well! John Mathias got a bit off course, but still rode at the front all day! Our official masters winner was Carl Fischer of Leavenworth. Wes Boyce repeated his SS victory from last year!
I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! Already looking forward to next years event. Not sure I can find any more hills, but I will try! May throw something together in the 70 mile range for this fall! But for now, plan on July 18th 2015 as the next FHC!
Here's some cool stuff from the weekend!
Eric Benjamin is sure to post something HERE
The Jim Cummins of DK200 fame, rocking so seriously dirty legs!

A pic I took early in the day of the Dirty Dog pack
David Neidinger finishing with Josh Johnson on his wheel!

Until next time!

Course and info!

Tomorrow is the day!
Once again... HERE is the course. I mapped it on garmin connect. It is the same course as last year, so if you have it already you should be set. Please put it in your garmin and be ready to ride!
I will have color maps and written cue sheets as well. The maps will be 2 pages and will cover the whole course with mile markers along the way. The cue sheets will get you from start to cp1, to cp2, to finish.
We will start at 8:00 sharp. Please plan to arrive by 7:30. If you have questions in the am call me at 816.820.0366.
You will have til 11:30 to get to cp1 in Maysville. You will have til 3:00 to get to cp2 in Plattsburg.
BBQ will start at 3:00!
The two support vehicles will be a white VW jetta wagon and a silver ford explorer. Look for them at both check points to sign in and fill up. I'll have some honey stinger waffles and lots of water and other snacks, but once again, you need to be prepared to cover yourself. Both checkpoints are in gas station parking lots.
Looking forward to it! It's going to be a great group with another day of awesome weather!

Check points and cut offs

There will be two check points along route.
CP1- Mile 35.7 - Maysville, MO
CP2- Mile 69.6 - Plattsburg, MO
You will have to check in at each town by signing off on your name. Each check point is at a gas station. Plan to bring some money to refuel. There will be a couple "neutral" support vehicles there with water coolers and various nutritional snacks.
Cut offs will be 11:30 for check point 1. And 3:00 for check point 2!
If you are not there by those times, please plan accordingly. From CP2 Lathrop is 8 miles east on 116. There's your bail out if you need it.
BBQ will start at 3:00! You'll be hungry!

Directions

Once again, this race (ride) takes place at my sister's house.
She has lots of kids, lots of patience, and is very hospitable when it comes to 50+ cyclists showing up in her yard to ride their bikes for 100 miles. Be kind and thank her and her husband if you see them.

The address is 5872 SE 248th St. Lathrop, MO 64465

Directions: Take exit 40 (Lathrop Exit) off of 35 and turn left (west) on 116.  Follow 116 for 1.8 miles and take a left on Mule Barn Rd. Head south on Mule Barn Rd for 1 mile to 248th st. Take a right and house is there on the right. Park as far to the back/left of the property as you can (toward the barn). There are no restrooms on site before the ride, so plan accordingly (there is a gas station as soon as you exit off 35).

Camping: Camping will be allowed for Friday evening. A couple of you have asked about that.
If you are going to camp, I ask that you camp behind the small out building near the house. It'll offer good coverage and nice grass to camp in. I'm not sure if I will be out there friday night or not.

If you have any questions this week call me at the shop at 816-587-8181 or later on my cell at 816-820-0366

Thanks!

Saturday!

Ok,
The roster is being added to daily! I think we're going to have a great group this year! And if the weather does what it says it's going to do, I think we'll have great weather too!
I'll post something several times this week!
First a few details...
The race will start at 8:00 this saturday the 19th!
It will cost $10 which will include a post race BBQ! My brother in law smokes up some amazing pulled pork. Sides and sweets will be included. Please bring your own post ride beverages.
The race is at my sister's house...please be respectful. We want to return again next year! There will be a restroom available before the ride for the WOMEN ONLY. Please plan accordingly.
I'll post time cut offs and directions next. There will be 2 check points at gas stations. I'll have some "neutral" support in the way of water coolers and a few snacks, but plan to carry some cash.
More to come! Email me with any questions!
Thanks
